Purple Up! 2025: SHAPE ES Celebrates Military-Connected Students With Heartfelt Community Support

SHAPE Elementary School proudly celebrated Purple Up! 2025 with a series of unforgettable events that reflected the strength, spirit and unity of our school and community.
They kicked off the celebrations as students arrived, greeted with cheers, clapping and wide smiles from teachers, staff, parents, community members and our incredible partners from Child & Youth Services — all lined up outside the school entrance to give our students a heartfelt welcome.
The energy was electric as our kindergarten through fifth grade students walked through a sea of purple. A huge thank you to CYS and our school liaison officer for not only showing up to support our students, but also generously providing shirts to our teachers, helping to unite us all in purple pride. Their continued partnership makes moments like this so meaningful.
Adding even more joy to the day, staff and students wore purple heart glasses — a fun and fitting symbol that our military-connected students are truly at the heart of everything we do at SHAPE ES. Kindergarten also hosted a special clap-out for our youngest pre-K learners, spreading smiles and encouragement from beginning to end.
CYS later returned to host a recess celebration, bringing fun games and activities for all students, even thoughtfully adapting activities to include our youngest learners in UPK. Their flexibility and enthusiasm made the day extra special for everyone.
To close out a fantastic month of celebration, our PTSO hosted a very popular Purple Up! Bingo event on the last Friday in April. Staff and teachers created themed baskets, and the turnout was incredible, with families and students coming together to show their support and school spirit.
