Weekly Wrap-Up

What a busy and exciting week it’s been! Our 5th graders visited the middle school earlier this week to learn about what lies ahead, and today, we proudly celebrated them at their Moving On Ceremony. We are incredibly proud of the resilience all of our students have shown this year, and we’re especially excited to see our 5th graders cross over to the next chapter in middle school.

Speaking of graduates, our SHAPE Knights showed up in full support of the Class of 2025 during the annual Walk of Fame. It was a meaningful moment that reminded us of how quickly time flies.

The building has been buzzing with end-of-year parties, picnics, and celebrations—some of which are still to come next week. We also had the pleasure of honoring our dedicated volunteers this week. Their consistent support and willingness to lend a hand make such a difference every single day. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for them. Special thanks to Dr. Campbell and Ms. Gonzalez-Smith for organizing a beautiful celebration in their honor.

As a reminder, we have just two school days left, as Monday is a holiday. We hope everyone enjoys SHAPE Fest this weekend—and fingers crossed for good weather!

Yearbooks!
We apologize, but our yearbooks sold out quickly this year. Ms. Kelly is currently gauging interest to determine if we can place an additional order. If you would still like to purchase a yearbook—even at a slightly higher cost—please email her at haoyi.kelly@dodea.edu.

SHAPE Knights Celebrate 2025 Graduates 🎉

Our SHAPE Knight students gathered along the blue top to cheer on and celebrate the Class of 2025 during the Walk of Fame. With posters, applause, and big smiles, they showed their support for our graduating seniors in a spirited send-off. It was a joyful and memorable moment for all!

Kindness Calendar

A big thank you to Ms. Blakely for finding and sharing this each month’s Kindness Calendar with our staff! The calendar is filled with daily acts of kindness to inspire students and staff to spread positivity throughout the school and beyond. It’s a simple yet powerful way to foster a culture of caring and connection within our SHAPE ES community.

Accelerated Withdrawal

The Principal may authorize an accelerated withdrawal of a student who must withdraw from school 20 or less instructional days prior to the end of a semester, in accordance with Section 3.1.d, of DoDEA Administrative Instruction 1367.01, “High School Graduation Requirements and Policy,” [TBD]. Accelerated withdrawal will only be considered if the parent/sponsor presents PCS orders. The parent or sponsor must present verification of the date required for the student to depart from the school (e.g., PCS orders). All of the conditions of an accelerated study program outlined by the student’s teachers must be met prior to withdrawal in order for grades to be assigned and credit to be granted. Students who withdraw prior to the 20-day limitation of the accelerated withdrawal policy will receive “withdrawal” grades rather than final grades. In this case, the sponsor/parent should notify the school two weeks prior to the date of withdrawal.

We’re excited to share that DoDEA has won the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award – Website Award of Merit for our School Newsletters Project! This NSPRA award honors outstanding school communication efforts that help connect schools with their communities. This wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing school webmasters. Thank you for keeping families connected with your hard work and heart!
